Ux redesign of website as a marketplace

Context

The current site of Autocom has a lot of blockers for the personas who arrive at the website trying to find options to get a new car.

First of all it doesn’t exist a correct hierarchy between elements: titles, images, CTA; it’s really hard to reach a good flow to make any specific task. Thinking more about the goal of this site: ‘‘provide to potential customers all the tools to buy a new car’’; it’s really complicated for visitors do this ‘‘simple’’ task.

Challenge

Give to the visitors and potential customers of Autocom’s website a pleasurable user experience once the personas interact with the car’s catalogue and makes an specific search after completing the parameters on the search tool and providing all the necessary information to get good communication between the system and users.

All this just to create and offer an easier, comfortable and friendly process to buy a new car.

Reach the best solution that will allow the increase of sales for the business, given that the new alternative for sales is where people first find information from home and then visit the physical stores.

My role

Analyze and understand the current problem before giving an approach for the visitors and business. Fist it’s necessary to meet the visitors or potential customers to empathize with their needs and behaviours and also comprehend all the stakeholder’s needs.

· Design of UX personas to have a map of final user needs.
· Make a quickly ideation as a ux solution and posible interaction into the approach.
· Digitalize ideas as wireframes and create wireflows to find a good way to offer a user experience and validate the final result.
· Do a prototype to test interaction between users and solutions and also increase the UX, following the feedback of final users.
· Offer a user interface to make the final solution stronger.

Ideas and concept for user experience

It’s really important to understand the personas who interact with a solution in order to give an approach to reach a functional final product.

Be faster and clearer doing sketches, keeping in mind all the stages and situations between the system and final user, to cover the most possible interactions and behaviours once there exists a match to link users and a final approach.

Ideas and concepts must always follow the needs of personas; this is the only way to create a perfect route to make iterative validation of user experience and have an increment between any prototype validation.

The wireframes are a root in the process to test and validate solutions for final users, those are really important when designing a product because if those don’t exist then nothing happen.

Here is where I designed each element and component to establish hierarchy between modules to provide the final users with the necessary tools to find specific items on the website.

Welcome zone or first screen: when the visitor find quickly the tools to do an specific search for a car or when the visitor could take suggestions about products or solutions of what the business has to offer to make a more simple process to get a credit, sale a car, find new arrivals on the sale’s catalogs or any kind of suggestions from the business for the final users.

CTAs to refresh for the user a specific ‘’hot’’ solution to take.

Quickly access at the car’s catalogue with simple but motivated sentences to be more empathetic with the visitor’s position and suggest a buy.

Share more about what kind of experience the customer gets once taking Autocom’s solutions and how this changes the way to buy or reach other services. This is really important for the visitors what could be possible customers sharing how Autocom is a real and stronger alternative between any other on the market.

Videos of testimonials and words from the clients are really important to show why Autocom is the real solution where a lot of people change their lives and only by sharing those experience is how the business will be stronger in the mind of the customers and get loyalty and new sales.

Also to reaffirm the value that Autocom offers to the people is mandatory to be totally honest with them and it’s necessary to show part of the values and steps of internal process in business just to create stronger trust on the mind of the customers.

Simple things such as being able to change a background on specific sections, increase the UX of final users and make a stronger engagement between personas and services. Because it’s not only about sales, it also is about making a much more grate connection with users and give personal experiences for all visitors, those visitors understand that in once simple sentence…

They are basic to validate the correct paths which the users could take to perform any specific activity once they are faced with the user experience.

User test validation

Validation is the most important part of the process when creating new products, this is because this is where the final user validates if it’s easy to do an specific task, if the communication with the system is correct or if it’s necessary do an adjustment; here is where an iterative process lives to increase a solution to reach a perfect delivery.

Result

After increasing the root of this product, I took the decision to create an approach about how will the user interface would look and offer a more completed product to support the UX process and deliver a 360 functional product.

Understanding a 100% what the goal was, made me create a solution only focused on reaching a better User Experience for this product.

Creating this solution took me around 28 hrs into an agile methodology and following an agile process as a design sprint.

Conclusion

It is simple, the more people talk about the good experience they got with the specific product, more people will find the key to open the door and take this new experience to buy a new car and that, is this products goal.

Not everything is about the business’s needs or only final users, it is about finding a solution to cover both sides to reach that, you need to empathize with stakeholders and prioritize to make decisions about what’s the correct approach to offer after validating the way to increase a solution and a functional design of product.
